At an early age we are taught not to believe in everything we see or hear, we are taught to be suspicious on everything we cannot prove and to specially just trust on ourselves. At the same time we are taught that some of this things that we do not believe in, must be believed, that we must have faith... but just on this things because they are real, unlikely the others, we cannot prove, but it is real. We are also taught that we are all equals, and we should love and care for the others, do not trust them, but care for them... Sounds quite messy, doesn't it?
So you must be thinking that I do not believe in anything from what I am saying, truth be told I believe in way too many things. Not what people expect me to, but still a lot of stuff, specially most of that stuff that we shouldn't believe according to them (Here the unmistakable, unpersonal them). So coming back to the initial question... what do I believe in anyways? Let's say that I am a helpless believer, not what is expected, but still, a big believer.
You would ask me: Do you believe in faries? I would say: YES. Do you believe in Santa? YES. Do you believe in Elves, Leprechauns, Ghosts, Witches, Magic, Afterlife, Monsters, the Easter Bunny. Again my answer would be: YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES, YES and NO. (Let's face it, nobody believes in a rabbit that lays chocolate eggs). Do you believe in Angels, Super Heroes, Santa (I do believe in Santa), Evil, Charms, Spells, Vodu, gods? The answer: Yes to all of them.
Do you believe in God? Well, here is the problem... perhaps. I cannot conceive the way The All Mighty is seen by most of people, can't believe in an old dude that knows everything, is everywhere and well can do whatever he wants, and that he had a son some couple of Millenia ago... well nops, sorry... I do believe in a higher power, in a source for everything, in an Alfa and Omega, but I do believe it is beyond our compreension and this higher power source has given the higher present, the gift of life and the right to be here and now has better things to do.
It lead us to our next question: Do I believe in Destiny? Well, again, depends... I do believe in destiny, so that means that nothing we do on this Earth will matter and we will end up at the designed spot, no matter what... WRONG.... I believe that we choose our path, that we are masters of our destiny and no God or gods may interfere on that, well not until we ask them to. I believe everytime we make once simple choice a whole universe is created to follow that direction and so on in each one of our decisions. (Some old guy said something like that once, can't remember who).
Therefore I believe in human beings, I believe that each and every single person on this universe can and may make the difference. I believe in the goodness in the human heart, I believe people are meant to be greater and I believe we are walking towards a greater future to the whole human kind. Here are some things I do not believe: The end of the world, that the humans have a bad nature, that there is nothing we can do with and for the world and the species that inhabit this planet, we are all here for a reason and we just need to find out why are we here. (I also don't believe that Santa doesn't exist).
But above everything and for my own shame I believe in love, I do believe in all that crap, that true love is unbittable and can conquer all, that love is the most precious thing we have in our lives and that once you get it, you should fight for it with your strenghtfor it, not because you may not find it again, but because love is to much precious for not to be fought for. I do believe that love is source to everything and result to all ends, the love of a parent for a child, the love of this same child for his parents, the love of two sweethearts, the love for our heroes and the love for the next. I specially believe in you.
